Is Your Attitude Showing?

August 12, 2013 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

Your attitude shows – even if you think it’s hidden.

I'm in a bad mood, steer clear!

Don’t deny it; own up to it.

Others are already aware of it – even if you never say anything.

And don’t feel bad if it’s not “happy-clappy” all the time. After all, we all have our down days. After all, someone with a “positive attitude” is simply someone whose attitude is positive more times than it’s not.

Check your attitude regularly. If it’s not serving you, do a reset.

Remember, as difficult as it might be to adjust it, it’s YOUR attitude and you can let it control you – or you can control it.

Unleashing Your Positive Side

May 30, 2013 by Featured Author Leave a Comment

success joy happinessYour attitude can make all the difference.  The actual act of thinking positively or negatively requires the same amount of energy. Of course the end results are very different.  A negative attitude will lead you into negative situations.  Most of the time you’ll suppress your full potential and follow down a path of failure.  Finding the positive in any situation can lift your spirits and set you on a better pathway to achieving what you want out of life.

It takes a lot of work to maintain a positive attitude. Proper planning and preparation will set you on the path to achieving the goal of living positively.  Follow these tips to learn how to unleash your positive side so that you improve relationships with friends and family, and impact coworkers and others around you.

Personal Assessment

The very first step is to take a self assessment.  Before you can proceed with any changes you should review your own disposition and current situation.  Take a long hard look and be honest with yourself.  This will not be easy, but it can be done.  You can’t change anything until you identify the areas that need the most emphasis.  Make a list and note down the negative aspects of your life.  Think about your attitude, how you live and your relationships.

No matter how young or old you are, it’s never too late for your dreams.

Many  people feel like they’re not going anywhere in their life. Others feel like they should have accomplished much more than what they already worked so hard for. On the bright side, when it comes to a major situation, the solution is always the same.

Video: The Darker Side of Positive Thinking

July 12, 2011 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

Can a positive attitude actually be a problem?

I had not previously heard of Barbara Ehrenreich, but she’s listed as “acclaimed journalist, author and political activist.” In this video, Smile or Die, from RSA, she explores what is termed as the “darker side of positive thinking.”

Whereby I agree that just thinking something can be naive and even dangerous (per her war example), I think she is simplifying the process. It’s not about just thinking and expecting a result. It is also about getting support, guidance, and direction from other people. Of course, you have to take some action too. Having said all that, my good friend Henry Mulak posted this on my Facebook wall and I think it is very cool. Not only does the animation intrigue me but she makes some great points.

What do you think?
