Best Wedding Dance Entrance Ever

August 27, 2011 by Scott "Q" Marcus

Today is Mary Ann and my 11 year anniversary. In honor of that, I wanted something inspirational that was tied to marriage. If you have not seen this video, it’s five minutes of absolute delight. Enjoy.

By the way, according to a post on blog.koldcast.tv entitled The Ten Best Wedding Videos Since the Invention of YouTube

The JK Wedding Entrance Dance is arguably the most popular of all wedding dance videos. The couple married on June 2, 2009 and released the video that July. Within 48 hours, the video was viewed 3.5 million times. To date, it’s been viewed close to 60 million times. That’s like inviting Italy to come see your wedding. The video features the entire wedding party dancing their way to the altar to Chris Brown’s Forever. The couple was invited to talk about the phenomenon on The Today Show and even did an encore there.

By the way, at their site, they are thanking people for the amazing response by donating to the fight against domestic violence. Kudos.

Video: Ryan Gosling Stops New York Street Fight (Really)

August 23, 2011 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

I started following the Good News Network awhile ago. (After all, don’t we need some good news periodically?) I’ve followed up on a few things I’ve seen them post (such as the “What Makes a Good Place to Live” post in June). Tonight, I see that Ryan Gosling actually broke up a New York street fight.

You can see the whole thing unfold in this video (be aware, this is a real fight so it might not be appropriate for smaller children).

You can find the whole story at the Good News Network page here.

It is a little disheartening that no one else stepped in and that those filming it didn’t call for help, but that doesn’t take away from Mr. Gosling. I’ve liked him as an actor since “Lars and Real Girl,” and now respect him on more than one level.

Video: Humorous Baby Advertisement About Attitude

First, I put up lots of kitten videos. Now, I’m putting up videos with babies. I’m being taken over by cuteness.

Well, what the heck, this is still a great ad from Huggies about maintaining a good attitude. (And I love the swagger the “lead” has when he walks.)

Video: Too Cute Kitten in Attack of the Killer Apples

July 22, 2011 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

Arrgh! I’ve been hooked into another real cute kitten video!

I can’t seem to stop myself.

It’s not motivational per se. It’s not inspirational. It’s just fun – especially due to the music. Besides, we all need a little fun now and then, don’t we?

Enjoy.

By the way, I found it on the Facebook page of the Edmonton Humane Society; I like to give credit where it’s due.

Oh yes, at the bottom of this post, there’s a link to another video by the same guy; equally as cute.

Video: The Darker Side of Positive Thinking

July 12, 2011 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

Can a positive attitude actually be a problem?

I had not previously heard of Barbara Ehrenreich, but she’s listed as “acclaimed journalist, author and political activist.” In this video, Smile or Die, from RSA, she explores what is termed as the “darker side of positive thinking.”

Whereby I agree that just thinking something can be naive and even dangerous (per her war example), I think she is simplifying the process. It’s not about just thinking and expecting a result. It is also about getting support, guidance, and direction from other people. Of course, you have to take some action too. Having said all that, my good friend Henry Mulak posted this on my Facebook wall and I think it is very cool. Not only does the animation intrigue me but she makes some great points.

What do you think?
