Eliminating Suffering

April 25, 2012 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

Self-Acceptance Affirmation

Suffering is NOT a requisite for success.

As someone once said, “Pain is mandatory, suffering is optional.”

We all experience pain during our lives. It’s inevitable. It’s part of the human condition. However,  focusing on it and fearing how much worse it can get does nothing to limit nor lower it.

When I am in pain, I am able to reach out to others for support and to take time to comfort myself. At times like those I need healing, not more to worry about.

Today, I let go of suffering and focus on the joy of accomplishment.

Abandoning Limiting Beliefs

April 24, 2012 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

Self-Acceptance Affirmation

It’s my mind; I can change it.

I am constantly exposed to new information.

When what I learn no longer matches what I knew, it’s healthy to adjust what I think and what I feel. Simply holding on to yesterday’s beliefs because I’ve had them for a long time is no reason to continue to harbor them. It’s healthier to change.

I have the right to change what I want and what I believe.

Earning Respect

April 20, 2012 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

Self-Acceptance Affirmation

Respect is earned by what you do with what you have, not what you inherited from others.

We cannot “command respect,” it is given to us by others who admire what we do.

By regularly doing what I way I will do – and doing it with dignity and compassion, I will have no choice but to earn the respect of others.

I am proud of what I have accomplished and I do it with grace and dignity.

Intelligence and Emotion are Not Related

April 17, 2012 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

Self-Acceptance Affirmation

Intelligence and perfection are not related.

When we don’t accomplish our objectives, we beat ourselves up with insults such as “I can’t believe how stupid I am,” as if we are incapable to doing what we need to do and as if insulting ourselves would move us closer to what we want.

Accomplishment has less to do with intelligence than it has to do with emotion. You can be the smartest person on the planet – yet if you don’t believe you can accomplish what you want, you won’t. Period. End of story.

Rather than considering yourself stupid or ignorant for not accomplishing everything you want, focus on what you have accomplished as proof that you have the skills you need to continue on your path.

I am wise enough and smart enough to accomplish whatever I want.

Avoiding Stagnation

April 15, 2012 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

Self-Acceptance Affirmation

The only way to avoid mistakes is to remain stagnant

Today, I will accept the fact that the only way for mistakes to be avoided is to remain stagnant.

Whereby that will prevent me from making errors, it will also prevent me from the possibility of enjoying my life, as well as growing. I will therefore move forward, fully aware of the fact that the unexpected can – and most likely will – happen, but that I can handle them when they do..

I am a fully functional being with the ability to handle set-backs and errors. Knowing that makes me stronger and happier.
