Funny, Too-Cute Video: Kitten vs. a Scary Thing

May 10, 2011 by Scott "Q" Marcus

OK, OK, it’s not earth-shattering! It’s probably not even important. But it is a kitten attacking a tennis ball! How bad could that be? (And it’s got a great sound track to boot!)

Take two minutes and laugh; you know you want to.

Video: The Power of Words – Choosing the Correct Ones

April 12, 2011 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

One of the main objectives behind this site is to help improve communication as I believe one of the biggest barriers we face to achieving our objectives is not being able to properly communicate. I don’t mean that to come out as we’re illiterate; more that we don’t tend to look at “the big picture.”

Most of communication is “below water;” it’s non-verbal – especially attitude. (One of my most popular presentations is about how attitude communicates.) However, there’s still a lot to be said for what is said.

OK, I’ll admit, when I first saw the first video below, I thought it was cool. However, I did not consider it to be “alive.” However, after you watch the second video, I think you might – like me – consider these sculptures to actually be alive. They have survival mechanisms and simple brains. Either way, these two videos will fascinate you. Enjoy

Video #1 is a short video from the BBC about the creatures created by Theo Jansen.

– Watch more Videos at Vodpod.

The second video is a TED video where Mr. Jansen explains how the creatures can adapt, survive, and even think.

Video: How Old Are We When We Really Begin to Communicate?

March 30, 2011 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

If this hysterical video of twin baby boys doesn’t assure you that we start communicating at a very young age – as well as the fact that communication is definitely not about the words – than nothing will.  Enjoy. Have a laugh.

Video: Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us

March 15, 2011 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

What would you say if you found out that a larger bonus might actually cause people to perform poorer?

It turns out that there’s more to production than money. We need purpose, self-direction, and mastery. This makes sense to me as most of the people I know are not “in it” solely for the money. However, this wonderful, animated, delightful ten-minute video by Daniel Pink is going to turn some folks on their ear. Watch it. It’s worth the time.
