Are You on Track?

January 28, 2013 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

overcoming obstacles - dedication - perseverance - attitude

As we come to the end of the first month of the year, plans we made earlier might have faded into dust.

That doesn’t mean the alternative is to give up. It’s important to remember that progress is not linear, it’s up and down, back and forth, here and there.

If you’ve stalled, it’s because your goal is:

  • Too big
  • Not specific
  • Doesn’t have a deadline
  • Isn’t your goal (i.e. you’re doing it because someone else is pressuring you)
  • Not in your control
  • A few of the above

Remember, every minute of every hour of every day is a chance to recommit to what matters most.

If you’re stuck, take a look at your goal and figure out one step to make it through today. Feel good when you do it.

Repeat as necessary.

Prioritize! Prioritize! Prioritize!

November 26, 2012 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

Understand that – especially during this time of year – no one person can get it all done.

Be patient with yourself for what you cannot get done.

Be patient with others for the same reason.

Every Monday, a new motivational memo is posted. Subscribers to ThisTimeIMeanIt.com’s coaching service get this – and many more benefits – sent to them directly. If you’d like to know more, follow this link.

Be Patient With What You Cannot Accomplish

Self-Acceptance Affirmation

There will always be more to do.

The only way we are all identical is that we each live in a 24-hour day.  Why some people accomplish more is therefore a function of how they organize their days and what priorities they have.

Yet, even they cannot accomplish everything they’d like to accomplish. We must realize that even when we pass from this life, we will still have uncompleted tasks “left on our plate.”

Be organized. Understand your priorities.  Accept that you’re only human.

Today I accept that there will always be something more to do.

All I can do is what I can do.

Let not Retirement be a Concern – Plan from beforehand

nest egg financial planning retirement

You’ll need financial security throughout your life.

However, the need increases more when you retire, since you lose the steady source of income you had till then. You might have intended to take a long vacation or set up a new business after retiring from your job. You might have planned to enjoy your life, relax and indulge in your hobbies.

Having debts might spoil your plans for retirement. Setting aside a particular portion of money, for debt repayments as per your debt management plan, will reduce the cash flow that you’ll need to turn your plans into action. It is advisable to plan early for your retirement, so that you don’t have to leave any of your wishes unfulfilled. The following tips might just be helpful as you start planning for retirement.

Tips for retirement planning

Your requirements don’t reduce after retirement. Only you’ll have more free time for your family as well as for those desires, which you might have neglected this long. So, why not make efforts yourself to lead a comfortable life after retirement? Make use of the following tips, and start building up funds from now onwards for your life, post-retirement.
