There is No Situation That Love or Compassion will Worsen

We have been through a horrific weekend.

Our hearts are heavy with hurt because of yet another mass killing. We feel for the victims and fo their families. We are saddened by the senseless loss of life – especially in such a hateful, violent, and meaningless fashion.

It is natural to want to hurt back; to strike out; to make others feel the same pain as do we.

As said Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

Find ways to be more compassionate, especially with those with whom you disagree. It will never worsen the situation.
