“A playful, upbeat, interactive experience.”
After a decades-long background in media and marketing, he lost 70 pounds he realized that he was a “Recovering Perfectionist.” He would spend vast amounts of time trying to be perfect and getting very little done. From that revelation, he developed his “Think 1st” system of change and now uses it to inspire organizations that are facing trying times on how to break down big barriers into small goals and move past them by reducing conflict, enhancing communication and improving morale.
Scott is the past president of the northern California chapter of the National Speakers Association. He is a syndicated newspaper columnist, author of three books, well-respected coach and consultant, and the CDO of ThisTimeIMeanIt.com, a site for people who are tired of making promises they don’t keep and are really ready to change.
Prior to his speaking and writing career, has been a DJ, talk show host, Music Director, Program Director, Operations Director and later: sales manager, station manager, and general manager of various radio and TV stations. He also served as an independent representative for an advertising agency in northern California and won two national Telly awards for TV campaigns he helped devise. He still organizes marketing campaigns for a several businesses and is a Sales and Marketing consultant for the Northcoast Small Business Development Center, and has conducted a monthly Marketing 101 seminar for local businesses for the last several years.
“Extremely interactive!”
No matter the topic, he is known for lively, playful presentations and has been described as a cross between “business 101, group therapy, and a southern revival.”
He works best with organizations that are looking to improve their health, communication and attitude. To that end, he has spoken many times to weight loss organizations, foster parent associations, school districts, municipal clerks, city clerks, and non-profits. ThisTimeIMeanIt.com uses his skills on a one-to-one coaching basis for individuals looking to make change.
