Help is Available Whenever You Need It

February 25, 2013 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

There is help available whenever you need it.

Reaching out to help

Part of the human condition is to at times, feel overwhelmed or insufficient. (If you don’t, you aren’t seeing the full picture.)

When that happens, we need to reach out and get the help and support we need. Whether we do that via prayer or meditation, by joining a support or business group, or by calling a friend; it doesn’t matter. Just do it.

Know there are greater forces than your own and you are not alone.

Help is everywhere – if you look for it.

Ask for guidance.

Then, be silent long enough to hear the answer.

  • attitude
  • physical attributes
  • one’s past history
  • even one’s health can cause a breakdown in communication.

The next time you find yourself being frustrated that someone does not seem to “get what you’re saying,” don’t get mad.

Instead, realize that YOU need to try a different method to be heard.

Slow down, regroup, and try it differently.

January 30, 2012 by Scott "Q" Marcus Leave a Comment

To get answers, you have to ask questions.

To hear the answers, you have to listen.

Our minds listen “faster” than people can speak.

Therefore, especially when we’re  busy, we sometimes don’t take the time so slow down and really listen to what others are telling us. We respond to what we think they’re saying, not necessarily what they are really saying.

Take just a few seconds to “slow down your listening speed,” especially when the conversation is important. You’ll hear what you normally don’t, therefore, you will diminish the possibility of conflict. You will also actually be more productive because you will have fewer repeat conversations.
