Getting Past What Prevents YOU from Enjoying Your Job

June 14, 2012 – 3PM PT

If you’ve got to go to work, you might as well as be happy, right? So why not take a Recess on June 14th and join our guest Rich DiGirolamo, the RECESSitator, as we talk about how being happy on the job is not out of reach and pretty simple to achieve.

Rich is a speaker, author and Superhero. He is the Founder of Recess at Work Day, which takes place on June 21st this year. He believes that to keep employees happy, engaged, loyal, and productive, you need to create a work environment or business model that is fun. He’ll share with us how having fun at work and being a fun place to work are two very different things. Fun places to work encourage employee creativity and originality. Fun places to work recognize that they have the right people; sometimes in the  wrong position. Fun places know that a happy employee experience converts to a happy and positive customer experience. Creating a fun place to work is the responsibility of everyone – not just the boss.

Rich’s latest project is Diary of the Happiest Employee on Earth, which is one person’s account of their first year working for a company that focuses on the Employee Experience day in and day out. It’s a blueprint of sorts to developing happy employees and fun workplaces. He thinks it should be read by CEO’s, HR Professionals, Managers, Leaders, Front-Line employees and anyone who ever saw the need to improve their work environment.

Other guests – dates to be arranged:

Mike Robbins, the author of two bestselling books, Focus on the Good Stuff  (Hardcover, Wiley) and Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken (Hardcover, Wiley), which have been translated into twelve different languages, will join us too. Mike has been featured on ABC news, the Oprah radio network, in Forbes, the Washington Post, and many others.  He is a regular contributor to Oprah.com and the Huffington Post.  Mike was also the host of his own radio show in 2009 and 2010, “Let’s Get Real,” on Energy Talk Radio. Mike is one of the warmest, most down-to-earth people I have had to pleasure to meet. You will feel like you are old friends before the hour is over.

Most likely, he will  answer questions on how to get past the barriers of being who you really are but he has so much expertise, we’re still trying to figure out the best way to use his skills. Mike is one of the warmest, most down-to-earth people I have had to pleasure to meet. You will feel like you are old friends before the hour is over.
